Many years ago Kerry and I were in Washington D.C. standing in line to get in to see the White House -- this was back in the days when they gave tours to the public. We never got in on the tour (a sad tale for another time). Near the line there was a fellow selling umbrellas. In a deep, wonderful voice with a silky melodious hint of southern accent, he repeated "Rain All Day; Sometimes Heavy" in an effort to increase umbrella sales. We had our own umbrellas that day and didn't buy one of his. But ever since that day not a rainy day goes by that I don't think of him and that day and say to Kerry, (that's right, you've guessed it) "Rain All Day; Sometimes Heavy".
Makes me smile every time.
