But, what I decided wouldn't be ok would be to leave my mostly finished December 2014 photobook unfinished.
Since 2009 I've done a December album that consists of one page every day for the month. These albums are not only my favourites, but the kids' favourites as well. I frequently see them grab these books off the shelf - because really, who doesn't want to relive Christmases of the past. It's where we see the annual name of our Elf on the Shelf, our favourites for the year in terms of baking, music, movies and tv shows, the school Christmas concerts, the wrapping, the gifts, the activities -- all the little details that make every December and Christmas glorious, yet unique.
So about a month ago I hunkered down and set to finishing this darn album. I'd finished most of the album in January, but still needed to complete the covers and make sure that everything I wanted included got included. Fortunately, I had it ready to go just in time for a 35% off sale with Blurb.
And today in the heat of the almost summer sun, I opened my December 2014 album!
It's quite plain, with the same background paper on every single page. By the time I finished with Day 31 I could barely look at the paper. But now, enough time has passed that I don't care every page looks almost the same. I'm just so very happy that I managed to get it done and printed to add to the collection on the shelf before new Christmas memories started to impede on the old.
Here are just a couple of my favourite pages (which look a lot like all the other pages!):
